Congratulations on receiving an offer to Riverside Magnet School, and thank you for choosing Goodwin University Magnet Schools! Please visit our registration page to learn how to accept your offer and complete the registration and enrollment process. In the meantime, please gather the following documents:

Your Photo ID (we will make a copy to keep on file)
Your child’s birth certificate (we will make a copy to keep on file)
Any legal custodial documentation (this is ONLY required for parent(s) who do not share custody or are not the legal guardian(s) of the student)
A copy of your child’s most recent progress report (if applicable)
Record of your child’s most recent test scores (reading, math - if applicable)
Any documentation from your child’s previous school (i.e. IEP/504/Birth to Three, evaluations, medical records, etc.)
A copy of deed, mortgage statement, tax bill or utility bill (Hartford Residents Only)
If you are registering a preschool student, please read the information about preschool tuition under our FAQ tab. If your child is entering preschool, please provide your most recent tax forms.

When is the deadline to register for my child's RMS placement?

How do I access my Power School Enrollment registration?

My child is entering Preschool, is there a tuition?

As required by the State of Connecticut, we charge a tuition fee for preschool students only. For families with enrolled preschoolers whose income is above 75% of the State Median Income, tuition for 204-2025 SY will be $2,320 for each preschool student. Families whose income is at or below 75% of the state median income will not be required to pay a tuition fee.

I am from Hartford, how do I prove my residency?

Is there before school and after school care?

We provide a tuition-based before school and after school enrichment program that begins at 7:00 a.m. and extends the day until 5:45 p.m. to help support our working parents. This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis with our currently enrolled students receiving priority.

I have all my documents, what do I do now?

I have my child’s documents that I would like to drop off at the school. Is the school open?

Although we are open for our current scholars, please contact our info@riversidemagnetschool.org to make an appointment to drop off the paperwork. We want to be able to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

Where can I find the forms I need for registrion?

Does my child need a physical to attend?

A current physical exam is required.
A dental exam (teeth and gums) is necessary (can be done by physician or dentist).
Immuniazation Records
If an immunization is not indicated for either medical or religious reasons, this must be indicated in writing. A doctor must document the medical exclusion.

Where do I get my child's health records?

Does my child get transportation?

Bus transportation is provided for all students in kindergarten through grade 5 that reside in the Greater Hartford Regional Transportation Zone. Preschool students residing in Hartford are also afforded transportation.
Families living outside the zone have the choice of transporting their child to the closest existing bus stop within the zone or providing their own transportation to and from school. A stipend is available to those families who choose to drive their student for the school year and is based upon attendance at the end of the year. How will I know when my child is fully registered and able to attend RMS in the fall?

What happens when my child is waitlisted?

If your student is not selected for placement through the RSCO lottery, then she/he will be placed on a wait list for each school or program choice. In order to confirm your student’s wait list position, you must respond online to RSCO by the specified deadline.
It is important to confirm your student's waitlist position. By doing so, you preserve the opportunity to have your student placed in a school or program that you selected, if a seat becomes available and your student is next on the waitlist.

Students should register and attend their district school until they receive a placement letter/offer. In some cases, students may be placed in a RSCO magnet school or Open Choice after the school year begins.
