A Reggio Emilia-Inspired Magnet Elementary School

Food Service Menu

At Riverside Magnet School, we know that education takes energy, and full stomachs fuel that energy; that's why we offer healthy, delicious meals prepared daily. Riverside believes it is important to provide a high quality Food Service Program at each of our schools.

Children who eat well-balanced meals and are physically healthy are more likely to learn in the classroom.  The link between good nutrition and good education is clearly demonstrated by better attendance, higher test scores, and fewer behavioral problems in school. Click here to read LEARN's full Student Nutrition and Physical Activity: Student Wellness Policy (#6118).

We have some exciting news!

Learn Has a New Food Service Management Company

We are excited with this new partnership and look forward to providing excellent, fresh, healthy food choices for each student.

Whitson's Culinary Group is among the region’s largest and most innovative food service companies.  Headquartered on Long Island, New York, in partnership with GenNx360, they are a family operated, NMSDC-certified minority owned company.  Their diverse leadership team provides business guidance and resources that enable them to offer innovative products and services and build an inclusive culture, benefitting their customers and team members in the communities that they serve.

It is important that each family completes and submits a free and reduced-price meal application to LEARN each year, in order to determine eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and other programs, like the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), discounted technology and WiFi programs, and more. Questions? Email foodservice@learn.k12.ct.us or call the Magnet Office Food Service Department at 860-434-4800 option 8.

To determine your student's eligibility, please read complete the application below for the 2023-2024 school year.
